What Nail Care Supplements Do You Need?
Dry hair and nails are a relection of the absence of required minerals & vitamins, dehydration, and damage at the cellular level. Years ago our Mother's drank gelatin in hopes of strengthening their nails and growing their hair. They were on the right track except that gelatin, and products like it, have supplements that are too large for our

So, ABSORPTION is the key. What do we have to
do to absorb the things we need? Take, for instance, silicon. Silicon is a
mineral that the body needs to create strong, healthy nails and hair. There are some formulations that are made specifically so that the absorption rate is high.
One of these that IS WIDELY USED is Jarrow Biosil. It is a stabilized,
concentrated Orthosilicic Acid.
The body absorbs silicon only in the form of
Orthosilicic Acid which is a dissolved form of silicon that consists of a

Nail Care Step 1 - Start on the Inside!
Your nails are composed of keratin which is a hard protein. Supplements can assist the body in making keratin and work to strengthen and harden nails. The water soluable B-complex vitamin Biotin & Silicon in the form of Orthosilicic acid. This combination of supplements has been found to be very beneficial for human

Nail Care Step 2 - Cleanliness
Nail care is essential for healthy nails. The next step in a weekly nail regime that will
result in optimally healthy nails is to remove the dirt from under your nails. Use an orangewood stick to lift any dirt remaining from under the nail.
Nail Care Step 3 - Polish Removal
The third step in your nail care regime is to remove old polish with a mild polish
remover. Try to find a polish remover that is non-drying since remover dries out your hands and nails so much.
Nail Care Step 4 - File & ShapeNail care starts in earnest when you shape your nails with an emory board. Be sure you
don't seesaw your emory board back and forth because this can cause ridges and splitting. Instead, file from corner to center. A somewhat flat shape is best as it is stronger and will best resist breaking.
Nail Care Step 5 - Cuticle CareThe cuticle is the skin that grows from your finger over onto the base of your nail. Most everyone will push the cuticle back or trim it. Most doctors will recommend that you not push the cuticle back, but most women do it anyway. Be aware that the cuticle prevents infection so be gentle with it.
Nail Care Step 6 - Top Coat & PolishA good nail
care regime would next include a clear top coat that will help strengthen the
nail. After it dries, follow with your favorite polish. You can put another
coat of clear polish on your color to help prevent chipping of your nail color
and strengthen your nails.
Nail Care Step 7 - MoistureThe most important part of your nail care regime is to apply a moisturizer on
your hands and cuticles. Apply moisture anytime your hands feel dry. If you do
things like sew or work with your fingers very often, the skin on your
fingertips and at the corners of your nails will begin to split. In this case,
your weekly nail care regime should include putting on a heavy moisturizer
before you go to bed (Vicks-Vaporub ointment or cream works very well on your
feet and your hands to ease dryness). If your nails crack or split, keep them
moisturized, and remember that nail polish remover will dry out your nails.
Nail Care Step 8 - Stain RemovalStains on nails caused by polish or dirt can be removed with a cotton swab or an
orangewood stick with cotton tip. Mix 1 part bleach to 10 parts water and rub the nail with the mixture to remove the stain. Follow the use of bleach with a moisturizer as bleach also dried out the skin and nails.
